Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE)

According to the Consortium for Energy Efficiency’s (CEE) Annual Industry Report, Utility efficiency program expenditures continue strong across the US and Canada, representing almost $9 Billion in program investment to serve energy efficiency and demand response objectives. Cumulative impacts associated with the ENERGY STAR Program alone total greater than $450 Billion in customer utility bill savings. With historically disruptive change stemming from the Internet of Things, customer investment in communication infrastructure, and other technological innovations, utilities have a unique opportunity to achieve ever greater energy related value by specifying newly enabled product functionality that provides customer and utility system benefit. CEE, the Consortium of gas and electric utilities who collectively are responsible for 80 percent of the $9 Billion program investment, has been working to specify this new IDSM Platform. Ed Wisniewski, CEE’s Executive Director, will present the key principles, products and concepts that define this strategic new industry platform.
