Free Workshops:

  • ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager Benchmarking Workshop
    (FREE with advance registration)
    - TUESDAY, March 6, 1:00-3:00 pm -
Portfolio Manager provides an unbiased 1-100 energy performance score and energy use intensity benchmarks for commercial buildings. Buildings scoring a 75 or higher on this scale are eligible to apply for the ENERGY STAR certification for superior energy performance. Participants in this workshop will gain hands-on experience on how to benchmark several types of commercial buildings, and will learn how Portfolio Manager can help in measuring energy performance, setting goals, tracking savings, and documenting and recognizing achievements.

  • Retrofitting Existing Buildings for Energy Efficiency and Demand Response
    (FREE with advance registration)
    - TUESDAY, March 6, 1:00-3:00 pm -
Compared with new facilities, existing buildings and plants often have legacy equipment which waste energy, require more maintenance, and incur more downtime. A complete rip-out and replace strategy is cost prohibitive and very disruptive to ongoing operations and occupants. New non-invasive technologies now allow for retrofits which take minutes to install and deliver substantial savings with investment payback of less than 18 months. This presentation, instructed by David Roberts of Cypress Envirosystems, will cover actual case studies and savings data related to HVAC, lighting, steam, and compressed air retrofits.

Meal Events:

CHP is gaining recognition not just as an important tool in the drive to reduce energy costs and emissions related to power generation, but also as a vehicle to deliver substantial societal benefits including increased industrial competitiveness, reduced healthcare costs, job creation and improved grid reliability. In order to derive these societal benefits, energy policy makers must find a way to increase the level of CHP adoption. In pursuit of these goals as embodied in the NJ Energy Master Plan and the PA Marcellus Utilization Committee Report, state legislative and regulatory bodies are making efforts to spur CHP development. Featured speaker, Gearoid Foley, Senior Advisor, DOE’s Mid-Atlantic Clean Energy Application Center, will review the latest developments in the policy and regulatory environments in NJ, PA and MD including new incentive programs and current initiatives.
